COPS Monitoring Bulletin Newsletter #29

Did you miss something? Electronic versions of past issues of the Bulletin are available online at: copsmonitoring.com/bulletin Logging lowpriority signals by time frame AC power fail, low battery, and other trouble signals can be important diagnostic signals, but you don’t always want us calling your customers at 3 o'clock in the morning. By contacting Dealer Support, you can have these lower priority signals bypass a dispatcher and go directly to history during certain times of the day. When activated, response for low priority signals for your residential, commercial, or your entire account base will be auto-logged between the time frames you define. Deferring these off-hours signals to a more appropriate time gives you the opportunity to review the activity to determine which signals require response or even a service call. Signals receivedwithin the time frames can be viewed using the Dealer Action Required report located in the General Reports section onMPower. Accounts withmissing info The Dealer Action Required report will also contain accounts that did not have all of the information necessary to complete the response instructions. For instance: if a signal requires a call to the premises, police dispatch, and RP notification, but the premises, PD, or RP number(s) are missing. The account with missing information will be included in your Dealer Action Required report. Instead of waiting until a critical moment to discover that important information is missing from an account, you can run the Subscriber Missing Fields report that is also located in the General Reports section onMPower. This report will show you all of your accounts that aremissing any important account information such as code handling instructions, Call to Verify (CTV) number(s), passcode(s), address, RP list, or PD/FIRE/MEDICAL numbers. Running the Subscriber Missing Fields report regularly will help ensure that your customers have all of the necessary information on their accounts when it counts!
