COPS Monitoring Bulletin Newsletter #31

As a member of the security industry, your company makes a difference by helping to protect the lives and property of people in your community. The security industry continues to grow quickly and your company has the chance to be very successful by conscientiously maintaining high standards and properly serving your customers. Aside from the obvious benefits of succeeding, when your company does well, it then has the opportunity to make an even greater difference in your community by doing good . Many successful companies want to do good, but they don’t always know where to start. If you ever wanted to pay it forward but didn’t know how, why not participate in one of the COPS events throughout the year? Here are two events we’ve hosted since the last Bulletin: SchoolTools Kit Build in Florida: In August, we partnered with our friends atMission 500 andWorldVision for a “SchoolTools” Kit building event to ensure that each child at a Title 1 school, just a few miles from our Boca Raton, FL office was outfitted with the supplies they needed for this school year. COPS provided the school supplies, invited our dealers, and opened our doors to our local community to join our team for lunch as we filled 700 backpacks with school supplies. In addition to themuch-needed supplies, each backpack also included a handwritten note of encouragement, and a notification to the p a r e n t or guardian that COPS is offering jobs at our nearby office. Everyone involved had a great time and the event was even covered by two local television stations! Check out the news coverage at: copsmonitoring.com/pr/1508/ American Red Cross Blood Drive in New Jersey: Did you know that someone in the U.S. needs blood every 2 seconds and a single car accident victim can require as many as 100 units? Every community needs an ample supply of blood. To do our part, the COPS New Jersey team invited our dealers and our community to become “Hometown Heroes” by donating just an hour of their time to give a unit of blood at our American Red Cross Blood Drive. The event was picked up by the local newspaper making the COPS blood drive one of the more successful local events the American Red Cross has had in recent history. No matter how you pay it forward, there are a number of positive outcomes when you support a good cause. Some even benefit your business in ways you might not have imagined. For instance, there's good reason we decided to roll up our sleeves with our employees, our dealers, and the public to host events. Research consistently links employee engagement to positive business outcomes across all industries, and employees don't always have the means to give back on their own. Hosting an event in which employees can become involved, makes them feel good, causes them to be more socially aware, and helps them bond with their colleagues, our customers, and the community as they team up to help those in need. It also helps attract "A-list" candidates who find it important to be employed by a company that places a value on paying it forward. Employees generally pay it back with a more positive attitude, higher productivity, better attendance, and less turnover, which is important to you since our team represents your company. It's really amazing that my work gives me the opportunity to give back and make a difference in a way I couldn’t by myself. I love working for this company!" – COPS Monitoring Dispatcher Explore the benefits of the largest trade association in the United States As your hometown central station, we understand the importance of providing the right tools and value-added services to help our business owners succeed!
